EUROLEGA EVENTO ANNULLATO

Il Consiglio esecutivo europeo IWBF ha osservato con molta attenzione la situazione in evoluzione di la minaccia del Coronavirus (COVID-19) negli ultimi giorni. È noto che i casi confermati da Coronavirus si trovano in molti luoghi in cui si verificano eventi EuroCup devono svolgersi, o da dove provengono o viaggiano le squadre. Abbiamo parlato con molti federazioni nazionali e agenzie governative. Abbiamo considerato opinioni e informazioni da molte squadre, giocatori e funzionari tecnici. L'obiettivo di IWBF Europa è proteggere la salute e il benessere di atleti, funzionari tecnici e comunità di basket su sedia a rotelle in questa difficile situazione. La situazione si muove velocemente e ogni giorno la notizia è più preoccupante. Il Consiglio esecutivo di IWBF Europa ha attentamente valutato la situazione. Al fine di proteggere i nostri atleti e funzionari tecnici, abbiamo reso difficile decisione di annullare tutti gli eventi previsti di EuroLeague e Champions League per il fine settimana dal 12 al 15 marzo 2020. Questa decisione non è facile ma viene presa per proteggere la nostra iscrizione. Continueremo a osservare lo sviluppo della minaccia del Coronavirus nelle prossime settimane e mesi e prendere decisioni sulle possibilità che alcuni giochi possano essere giocati su altri fine settimana quando sono previsti i round finali di EuroCup. Ci dispiace che questa situazione sia diventata necessaria. IWBF Europe sarà in contatto con tutte le squadre interessate, i comitati organizzativi locali e funzionari tecnici con maggiori informazioni sui prossimi passi.

EUROLEAGUE EVENT CANCELED
 

IWBF Europe Executive Council has been watching very carefully the changing situation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) threat over the last few days. It is well known that Coronavirus confirmed cases are in many places where EuroCup events are to take place, or where teams are coming from or travelling in. We have spoken to many national federations and government agencies. We have considered views and information from many teams, players and technical officials. IWBF Europe focus is to protect the health and wellbeing of athletes, technical officials and wheelchair basketball community in this difficult situation. The situation moves fast and every day the news is more concerning. The Executive Council of IWBF Europe has carefully considered the situation. In order to protect our athletes and technical officials, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all planned EuroLeague and Champions League events for the weekend of 12 to 15 March 2020. This decision is not easy but is made to protect our membership. We will continue to observe the development of the Coronavirus threat in the coming weeks and months and make decisions on possibilities for some games to be played on other weekends when EuroCup Final rounds are planned. We are sorry that this situation has become necessary. IWBF Europe will be in contact with all affected teams, local organizing committees and technical officials with more information on next steps.
